Our San Diego area client is looking for a Contracts Manager. They are looking for someone who can handle stress, willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard, ability to stay focused in difficult situation, able to deal with tough personalities and someone who sees the benefit in a team effort. Reports to V.P Finance and Corporate Contracts.
Provides leadership and directs the administration of all assigned contracts and subcontracts including preparing, reviewing, and approving all contractual documents to ensure protection of Company’s contractual posture; Identifies legal or contractual issues, develops resolutions and provides guidance to management on resolving those issues
Drafts various contractual agreements and coordinates the review of those documents with the Law Department
Ensures that the Company’s proprietary interests are protected and that Company policy is followed for processes such as, but not limited to, the review of reports, papers and articles. Reviews agreements, evaluates the documentation and authorization forms to identify problematic provisions and determine if the minimum requirements are met.
Coordinates review of solicitations and assists in drafting proposals to ensure customer objectives are satisfied and company interests are protected; Negotiates contracts independently, or as part of a team, which achieves customer satisfaction and company business objectives and adheres to all applicable laws, regulations and customs
Remains current on commercial/government/international laws, regulations and practices affecting contracts and related agreements
Direct and actively participate in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of the required management, professional, and technical talent
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations and company policies wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
Responsible for establishing Company policies and procedures related to Contracts, and insuring their dissemination Responsible for issuing operating instructions, guides, procedures or manuals necessary for the efficient and proper functioning of the Contracts department
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelors degree in business or law or a related field and 6 or more years of progressively more complex contract management related experience as well as 4 or more years of supervisory/management experience . May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
-Government and commercial contract experience value of contracts negotiated from $200k - $2million -Negotiate contract terms. -Contract close - outs
-Must possess the ability to resolve complex management and technical problems; serve as spokesperson on assigned projects and/or programs; and provide leadership and direction to assigned supervisors and staff
Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required
-May be required to obtain a security clearance
-Familiar with SAP or similar ERP systems
