Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of the National Contract Management Association. Our Chapter was established in 1962 and was the sixth chapter organized under the umbrella of the National organization. National Contract Management Association is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year as being a professional membership society for people interested in the practice of contract management.
Whether you're trying to build awareness in the marketplace, striving to form the right strategic alliance, or just negotiating a contract, the more knowledgeable you are across several disciplines, the more you add value to your organization. Our Chapter programs enable our members to develop professionally by offering access to a diverse contract management community of practice. We're dedicated to our mission of providing opportunities in helping you to further your education, advance your career, and increase your knowledge within the profession. Our Chapter functions are represented by leading figures in government, industry and academia who are involved in emerging acquisition topics.
Congratulations to our newly elected Board. They will take office in June 2009 and begin planning for our new program year. The Chapter will not be hosting any luncheons or seminars until September 2009. We will continue conducting the monthly board meetings, held on the first Wednesday of every month, through July. August will be a dormant month with the meetings resuming in September. All are invited, and volunteer opportunities are always open. We will continue to hold our Contract Administrator's Round Table (CART) meetings. These are attended by government and industry professionals and provide a forum for you to discuss your contract problem of the day. Not only will this open exchange generate possible solutions, but you'll be teaching others who have not experienced your particular issue. Browse our website to check the date, time and location of our events. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer in this dynamic professional organization, please contact me or one of our officers listed in our directory section. Your involvement can make a difference!
